Costenbader, N. (2000). Web Lessons Science, High School. One 92 page book. Part of the WebLesson series, this book focuses on web based lessons appropriate for high school science students. (Circulating Collection Q181.C78).
Loucks-Horsley, S. (2003). Designing Professional Development for Teachers of Science and Mathematics. 376 page book, includes bibliographical references and index. Appropriate for inservice. (Circulating collection Q183.3.A1.D47).
Oxford University Press (2000). Designs for Science Literacy. One 300 page book and one computer disc. Includes bibliographical references and index, this book was prepared by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. (Circulating Collection Q183.3.A1.D48).
Teach Stream (2003). Strategies That Work for Science Teachers. LPD Video Journal of Education. One 40 minute videocassette and one implementation guide. Assists science teachers in implementing high-quality programs that combine a balance of pedagogy and content. Presents to science teachers the goal of being knowledgeable about the content of science, highly-skilled in conveying that content, and able to present science in an understandable way to every student. Appropriate for inservice use. (Circulating collection Q181.S27).
WGBH (2003). Teachers as Learners: A multimedia kit for professional development in science and mathematics. Four videocassettes and facilitator’s guide. Includes sections on principles for effective professional development, exploring science through cases, observing science teaching and more. Appropriate for inservice use.
