Tools to Evaluate Websites
by Dolores Veshka

John McCarthy

Learn how to evaluate the validity of the information you encounter on the World Wide Web by using a variety of evaluation tools to examine the content. Critical analysis of documents to determine purpose, bias, accuracy, and quality is more important than ever.

Credibility of sources is also a critical issue given the case with which computer can be used to edit or fabricate what have traditionally been viewed as factual records-both print documents as well as images. We will also look at helping students citing electronic resources. Take these tools back to your classroom.
